LAKE MACQUARIE area
Full time, permanent (flexible hours)
Salary $80 - 90k p.a. (negotiable)

About the Company
Our client is a well-established product design consultancy looking to grow the studio team. Servicing the aeronautic, sporting equipment, industrial equipment, medical device, consumer electronic, homeware, advertising, point of purchase, transport and commercial interior sectors, they design and develop commercially viable products using their in-house manufacturing facility. The Role
In this Product Designer role, you will be responsible for taking on projects from the ideation and concepting stage through to delivery. The successful candidate will have a high level of initiative, extensive knowledge of manufacturing techniques, experience in prototyping and product testing, an innovative mindset and a drive to go above and beyond.
Responsibilities:
Conduct design research and product ideation
Produce detailed 3D designs and 2D drawings using Solidworks
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
Create high-quality conceptual renderings and presentations for client meetings/proposals
Create test rigs and prototypes using 3D printers, CNC routers and various tools/equipment
Complete comprehensive design testing and validation of projects
Liaise directly with suppliers on costing, quality control, technical challenges, and delivery of manufactured products
Project management
Design and development of industrial, commercial, consumer and mechanical products
Clearly communicate with others on work progress and delivery timelines
Skills and experience
With at least two years' experience in a similar role, you'll have:
* Diploma or bachelor's degree in Industrial/Product Design or equivalent experience
* Ability to independently manage a workload of complex and diverse activities
* Demonstrated experience in Solidworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keyshot, Word, Excel, Cura
* Exceptional attention to detail and time management
* Ability to deliver to deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
* A portfolio that showcases real world expertise in all aspects of the design process
* A high level of initiative, whatever it takes attitude and a desire to learn and grow
* Proficiency in 3D printing and workshop equipment
