About us

SDN Children's Services is a not for profit organisation that has been delivering quality early childhood education and child care, children's therapies and family support services since 1905.

We are one of Australia's most respected children's services organisations, and have over 600 staff across 30 sites in Sydney, regional NSW and the ACT. We also have therapists who support children with autism or a developmental delay, and can help overcome the challenges that can make everyday life and participation tough for children.

About The Role

The FP&A Business Partner is responsible for coordinating and assisting the Director of Finance with preparing the annual budget and rolling forecast and providing high-level support and analysis in managing the annual financial planning process.

You will undertake financial modelling and preparing relevant financial analysis to support strategic initiative and special projects. You will support relevel stakeholders and collaborate with the finance team and service leaders to lead, develop and implement financial processes, strategies and initiatives across the organisation.

This is full time maximimum term contract position for 12 months.

About You

  • A relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum of 3 years in an analytical role.
  • Proven budgeting, forecasting, modelling and reporting skills. This will include experience in working with complex financial management information systems and the proven ability to write, interpret and apply financial policies and procedures.
  • Proven ability to provide meaningful and relevant analysis that supports decision making and the ability to translate operational decisions into timely impact reporting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary budgeting and management reporting practices with experience in and ability to provide senior management with strategic financial advice and concise, tailored, interpretative reports which identify and analyse key elements of financial results.
  • High level financial modelling and analytical skills including demonstrated experience manipulating large datasets from multiple sources and using online data management systems. Experience with Kepion or comparable budgeting and reporting systems will be highly regarded.
  • A strong ambition to provide financial analysis and transparency through business partnering.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Confident to present to management.
  • Experience with continuous improvement of business processes (experience in digital transformation of finance systems and processes would be highly regarded)
  • Working with Children's Check (NSW) or willingness to obtain and National Police Check.
