Who are we?

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) is a unique cross-border public health service and the largest regional health service between Sydney and Melbourne. We support an outer catchment population of 250,000 throughout North-East VIC and Southern NSW, with a dedicated team of over 2,600 staff. We are a dynamic organisation undergoing significant growth, with plans for new Emergency and Mental Health facilities underway.

The Opportunity

Albury Wodonga Health requires an Administration Team Leader Public Health Unit to join our newly formed Local Public Health Unit (LPHU). Work has commenced in appointing support roles and in establishing the LPHU, which is an important stepping stone in the development of a stronger, more decentralised public health system in the AWH Region.

It is anticipated that the transition of the AWH LPHU to take on a broader public health functions beyond Covid-19 and will be a gradual, phased process, with additional functions established over time, with the roles, governance and accountability arrangements for AWH and other local agencies and partners clearly defined.

The Administration Team Leader Public Health Unit (ATLPHU) is a key support role within Albury Wodonga Health. The role will be Full time and based across Albury Wodonga and will oversee the day to day business and administration management of the AWH LPHU.

The AWH LPHU coordinates the public health response across five local government areas in the upper Hume region including Wodonga, Wangaratta, Alpine, Towong and Indigo. Establishment of the Public Health Unit (PHU) is part of a state-wide restructure of public health delivery in Victoria.

The ATLPHU works with the Operational Manager Public Health Unit, for all aspects of operational management: including governance & reporting structures, staffing, and managing the activity and budget of the Unit.

Primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Performance Management
  • Quality, clinical governance and risk management.
