Electrical - Mechanical - Fitter skills needed

Grant Transformers has a long history of providing industrial customers with special solutions involving transformers and related electrical equipment. We work closely with our customers to determine their needs, provide proposals, solve problems, then design, manufacture and deliver a product that exactly fits their requirements.

We are based in the Malaga Industrial Estate north of Perth in a light industrial manufacturing setting.

We are looking for a motivated person who will be intimately involved in carrying out custom manufacturing of transformers and be trained in design principals & processes as well as electrical testing and QA matters.

Position Purpose

The successful candidate will be a key member of the manufacturing team. You will have an understanding of technical diagrams, a mechanical aptitude and be proficient with use of hand tools. In addition, you will play an important part in the company achieving its customer service targets and safety standards, and be a valued member of our enthusiastic team.

Specific Tasks

· Read manufacturing drawings, schematics and electrical specifications

· Set up winding jobs and prepare materials for winding

· Complete complex or difficult windings

· Determine correct laminations and “stack” transformers

· Terminate and finish off transformers

· Final inspection and sign off procedures

· Testing of transformers

Position Requirements

(Education/ Experience/ Knowledge)

· Engineering Degree is desirable

· Trade or practical experience

· Electrical knowledge and interest

· WA Driver's License

· Effective communication skills with attention to details

· Adaptability

· Be self‐motivated and capable of achieving outcomes

· Time management skills - prioritizing tasks that will produce the best outcome for the business

· A strong team focus and personal work ethic
