About The Role

We currently have opportunity available to join the BHP Nickel West Environment team as a Specialist Environment supporting the asset in environmental approvals, environmental management and governance in a permanent position, reporting to the NiW Environment Manager. The Specialist role is required to support the delivery of deep environment functional expertise for NiW and Minerals Australia.This role will be based in the BHP Perth Office, working a 5/2 roster.

Prepare and deliver environmental approval documentation for submission to government;
Maintain and continue to improve business-wide standards for environmental approvals documentation
Collaborate effectively across the business in relation to environmental approvals;
Ensure that appropriate interaction occurs with government, community and other stakeholders to satisfy environmental approval processes;
Work with engineers, consultants and internal functions to ensure adherence to environmental approval schedules; and
Contribute to key environmental analysis and improvement projects across Minerals Australia.
The Specialist may also provide support to maintain the EMS and reporting.
About You

Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science/Engineering or equivalent.
Extensive experience in environmental management, with experience in the mining and/or resource sector;
Managing environmental approvals for multiple complex resource development projects;
Solid knowledge of Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approvals processes;
Experience in project and contractor management to achieve tight timeframes;
Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to achieve project outcomes.
Experience in biological studies and impact assessment will be well regarded.
