Fixed Term role until February 2022.
Integral role in supporting communication with the Corporation’s key stakeholders including Board, Minister and Treasury
Provides insights into the full current and future financial position of the Corporation

About the role:
Reporting to the Manager - Economic Policy & Analytics, the Analyst - Economic Policy & Analytics is responsible for contributing to the delivery of the Economic Policy and Analytics team’s key outputs including the management of the corporate financial model, preparation of government submissions, Treasury management function and undertake economic and other research as required.

With the sought after opportunity to support communication with the corporation’s key stakeholders including Board, Minister and Treasury, you will work as an integral member of a small and very competent team to support the future financial position of the Corporation.

You will:
  • Provide modelling support such as collecting and validating input information, auditing calculations and sense checking outputs, in conjunction with the Senior Analyst, to maintain the Corporate Financial Model and associated processes including submissions for Government
  • Provide modelling support to the Treasury Manager and maintain various models and processes associated with the management of cashflow, debt, credit management and foreign exchange
  • Independently prepare research, financial and economic analysis on strategic financial issues
  • Prepare corporate models, ensuring that models developed provide an appropriate level of information for senior management decision making and results are delivered within a reasonable timeframe
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and development of strategic financial models to ensure their integrity and value as business tools
Key skills and experience:
  • Degree qualification in economics, accounting, business, finance, law or other relevant discipline
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to effectively communicate with, negotiate and influence key stakeholders
  • Considerable experience in developing and analysing financial models using computer based analytical and corporate information systems
  • Relevant experience in analysis of strategic financial and commercial issues
