Kennards Hire is excited to announce that we will be opening a new Distribution Centre to be based in Welshpool as of July 2021. Our DC is designed to support the network with a range of large and specialist equipment, product and solutions with an aim of increasing reliability, convenience, utilisation and productivity to our customers.

About the role

As the Workshop Service Manager, you will manage and lead a team of people, allocate workload and manage the day to day operations in the workshop. It requires the co-ordination of resources and liaising with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure work is delivered on time and to Kennards Hire’s quality standard.

This role requires you to:

  • Oversee the DC workshop, lead and motivate the team and manage the service and repair of equipment to Kennards Hire standard for our customers, and to minimise downtime
  • Manage the service budgetand P/L
  • Order parts and workshop supplies, ensuring essential workshop supplies are in stock and that equipment costsare within branch budgets
  • Liaise with external suppliers to get quotes on parts
  • Assess all jobs balancing quality, cost, time and resource
  • Liaise with outside repairers on technical repairs of equipment
  • Leading a safety culture to support people and customer safety and compliance

About you

  • Previous experience managing a workshop
  • Previous experience with hands on equipment maintenance and service
  • Strong knowledge of various types of hire equipment and machinery
  • Demonstrated previous experience leading a team in a management/supervisory role, with the ability to effectively delegate, coach and develop others
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing costs and budgets
