The Opportunity.
Supervising Fisheries and Marine Officer’s lead a team undertaking the delivery of effective and efficient compliance activities, investigations, surveillance, education and community awareness programs relating to fisheries and other legislation administered by DPIRD.
There are current vacancies in Carnarvon, Denham and Esperance, and applicants must be willing to take up the position in one of these three locations. A pool will be established and considered for future vacancies that arise in Perth and various regional locations.

Job Requirements:

The Ideal Candidate.
This role requires leading a small team in the delivery of compliance operations. The ideal candidate will have significant experience leading and developing a team in a regulatory environment, have the ability to deliver a compliance program including problem solving using innovative contemporary methodologies. The role also requires working in challenging and remote environments at odd and unusual hours and with clients from a range of diverse cultures. The role will sometimes require considerable time away from home and availability to work irregular hours and at a range of locations is also required.
Candidates will need to be able to satisfy departmental swimming and approved medical and fitness entry standard and be prepared to undertake ocean swimming and snorkel diving activities as required by the Department.
