SENIOR SAFETY ADVISOR (4 Positions)
- Annual Salary Range: VPS 5 $101,120 - $122,348 plus super
- Tenure: Fixed Term [24 Months]
- Employment Type: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
- Multiple Work Location: Regional Victoria [Loddon Mallee, Grampians, Gippsland & Hume] (flexibility may be available)
About the Opportunity
This role is responsible to contribute to the development and implementation a safety strategies, frameworks and programs, procedures to ensure DOTs proactive safety culture.
About the Role
The primary purpose of this role is to apply well-developed specialist knowledge to embed the required transformational in Occupational Health & Safety across a variety of DOT business units including high-risk construction activities aiming to reduce and prevent workplace injuries and illness.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant or related field
- Strong understanding of high-risk activities and contractor management to ensure the appropriate identification, management, and minimisation of relevant safety risks.
- Strong analytical and project management skills that can be applied in the context of both high-risk activities and allied and mental health support.
- Good collaboration capabilities with a customer focus to ensure that occupational health & safety standards and programs, including mental health, are developed and delivered in line with key stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to interpret and apply the provisions of health and safety legislation, policies and standards as they relate to the workplace, including the management of contractors.
- Good interpersonal skills to form credible and effective relationships and networks with internal and external key stakeholders that result in improved outcomes.
- Significant experience managing injuries & illness in construction, mining, oil & gas, aviation or similar, within a large, complex organisation.
- Significant experience in contractor management in high risk industries
- Good working knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation and its application in a large and complex organisation.
