Job Description:

This is a rare opportunity for a proven sales executive to join an exciting Investment Management firm with a long track record of performance and growth. As the sole Business Development Manager, you will represent the Arnott Opportunities investment strategy for wholesale clients.

The primary objectives will be to grow the Funds Under Management (‘FUM’), maintain and develop existing client relationships and minimise time spent by the Investment team on marketing. You will have personal responsibility to lead all sales and marketing activities and have direct accountability for all client relationships. The ideal candidate will be focused, have strong communication skills and display the ability to think critically and execute upon a set plan.


  • Develop the sales plan and go to market strategy to increase firm FUM.
  • Manage, retain and develop all existing client relationships with High Net Worth Individuals, advisers, planners and private bankers.
  • Manage all relationships with key industry participants, including but not limited to: Platforms, Research & Investment consultants and ratings firms.
  • Manage all sales and marketing activities in a systematic and effective way that demonstrates discipline, structure and accountability with a core focus on limiting time spent by the investment team on non-investment related activities.
  • Manage all client requests ranging from inbound queries to technical attribution analysis for investment committees.
  • Have an intimate knowledge of the Arnott Opportunities investment strategy developed through interaction with the investment team in Portfolio Review meetings, Portfolio Idea meeting and formal investment committee meetings.


  • Bachelors degree, with CFA or other post-graduate education viewed favourably.
  • 3+ years prior industry experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work remotely and have a strong attention to detail.


  • The role is for Sydney, Australia. However, we would consider outstanding candidates from other locations within Australia or internationally.
