About the Role

  • Manage an allocated workload to deliver Social Work services, including assessment, intervention and evaluation within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with established clinical & departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence-based practice and ethical standards and under clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of more senior staff.
  • Acts as a clinical reference point with the Social Work team and responds to every-day clinical demands.
  • Collaborate on and undertake the development of evidence-based clinical practices, policies and protocols within Social Work .
  • Apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to Social Work complex decision making with only occasional clinical/professional supervision.
  • Adapt routine clinical practice as required based on clinical evidence with minimal supervision and a high degree of independence.
  • Assist in the identification, development, implementation and/or review of clinical practices, procedures and protocols in work areas using the principles of evidence based practice under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Applies high level advocacy in the healthcare and welfare system to address client need and ensure equity in access to services
  • Delivers high level Social Work clinical services in accordance with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Code of Ethics and AASW professional practice standards
