About the role
As the CDP Operations Manager in our Community Development Program (CDP) Team you will strongly identify with our Vision and Mission and will be able to fully comprehend how the successful delivery of our CDP program will improve the quality of life of participants, their families and the communities in which we operate. You will be responsible for the CDP operations in the Peninsular and will provide operational leadership to the department within ALPA’s Community Services division.

This is a maternity leave contract with a duration of up to 12 months

This position is based in Nhulunbuy, NT

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of local staff across a number of sites
  • Work with participants, their families and other key community associations to develop strategies to address identified support needs and respond to queries/ concerns in a timely manner.
  • Support participants, families and employers in the successful transition of participants into the workforce and provide meaningful ongoing support.
  • Ensure that all program guidelines are met relating to service delivery and to the provision of high level reporting to Dept of Prime Minister & Cabinet as per the CDP funding agreement and to the GM of Community Services.
  • Support the ongoing operationalisation of a locally tailored CDP program based on comprehensive community consultation.
  • Ensure all activities and program elements take into account individual participants choices and interests, as well as the broader identified priorities of the community.
  • Be a positive contributor to the ALPA CDP Leadership Team and build positive relationships across all areas of the ALPA group
  • Manage relevant CDP financials in line with Board approved budgets and raise any concerns with the CDP Manager in a timely manner.

Skills and Experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role coupled with a relevant qualification in community development, human services or, similar.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the barriers faced by jobseekers in remote communities who may have complex needs and who are culturally and linguistically diverse.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience including the ability to coach, mentor and guide your Team Members to achieve organisational goal, in at times, very complex and challenging scenarios.
  • High level communication, interpersonal and relationship management skills together coupled with experience in the provision of advice and recommendations at a senior management level.
  • Successful outcomes of CDP service delivery and operations – particularly in relation to contract delivery, funding applications and acquittals, performance management & evaluations and reporting.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement with the demonstrated ability to apply project management skills to a variety of ongoing projects simultaneously to maximise efficiency and performance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, development, management and oversight of relevant risk mitigation strategies as they relate to the provision of CDP service delivery.
