JOB DESCRIPTION
As a team member, assist businesses and individuals with licensing requirements, new business, grants and
Government assistance programs. Provide services on behalf of internal and external Agencies by receipting and processing
Licences and be the primary call and contact centre for the Department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure customer satisfaction and provide a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers at all times.
2. Deliver a continuously high standard of Customer Service to meet the needs of all internal and external clients and provide
administrative support to internal and external Agencies and Departments.
3. Respond to a range of public enquiries, face-to-face, call centre or electronic methods. Provide clear, accurate, business
and licence information and guidance and liaise with other agencies, Departments and organisations.
4. Accept and process a wide range of licence applications in a timely, efficient and accurate manner utilizing multiple NT
Government systems.
5. Receipt NT Government Revenue, reconcile daily transactions, and prepare bank deposit slips and NT Government banking.
6. Operate the Australian Business Licensing Information Service (ABLIS) database and provide accurate information on
licences required to operate business in the Northern Territory across three tiers of Government.
7. Keep records of customer interactions, transactions, comments and complaints.
8. Contribute to the development and maintenance of documented procedures to provide consistent and quality services to
clients.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
1. Experience in front line customer service including expert delivery of relevant and accurate business and licence information,
or similar experience demonstrating the ability to quickly learn these processes.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across a variety of communication
channels for the efficient and accurate transfer of information to external and internal stakeholders.
3. Demonstrate strong communication skills and be able to convey information with the ability to effectively communicate
with a diverse range of people and cultures and the ability to successfully negotiate when dealing in difficult situations.
4. Time management skills, being able to meet deadlines accompanied by an ability to handle a number of tasks concurrently
and demonstrated ability to enter accurate and timely data using a range of computer programs.
5. Numeracy skills plus experience in receiving and processing cash and electronic financial transactions.
6. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and undergo Criminal History Name Check.
Desirable:
1. Good understanding of the Northern Territory Government and a sound knowledge of relevant licence legislation for the
purpose of assessing and approving applications.
