Contract Resources is currently looking for a highly motivated Commercial Coordinator to join our team, initially in Adelaide with a possible relocation to Perth after 12 to 18 months. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this is a great opportunity to work closely with management, clients and suppliers while negotiating and managing commercial contracts. As the Commercial Coordinator, you will be required to work collaboratively with a range of departmental managers, clients and suppliers and assist the Commercial Manager with proposals, tenders and contracts. You will also actively support project managers in client negotiations, supplier management, estimating, understanding contractual terms and conditions and tender submissions.

Role Accountabilities include:
  • Assist in evaluation and management of contract negotiations from tender submission to close out, extension or renewal as appropriate.
  • Assist in organisational contract development and management activities and assist in enforcing organisational principles of integrity and compliance.
  • Attend contract strategy meetings to identify issues and client requirements and obtain stakeholder input on timelines and deliverables.
  • Ensure that contracts and proposals are correctly entered into organisational databases and securely maintained.
  • Assist in establishing and/or maintaining customer and supplier relationships.
  • Draft contractual provisions based on strategy discussions, senior management input, and organizational needs and expectations
  • Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments
  • Manage record keeping for all contract-related correspondence and documentation
  • Assist in providing guidance on contracts to key stakeholders.
  • Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets.
  • Assist in running audits and monitoring contract compliance with established procedures.
  • Assist in reviewing the contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution at contract renewal.
  • Assist in the management of group insurance claims and policy document management.
  • Occasional interstate travel will be required.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Degree in law or related field is preferred, however suitable experience in contract management will be considered
  • 2 years’ experience in the preparation, negotiation and management of tenders and contracts
  • Experience in estimating industrial service projects
  • Understanding and knowledge of commercial contract terms and conditions.
  • Exposure to contracts, terms and conditional and contract review in the Oil and Gas or similar industry (desirable)
  • Ability to create and analyse estimates and budgets
  • Ability to work both in teams and independently
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite
