The Everyday Banking Team is responsible for creating, improving and optimising the end-to-end everyday banking experience for our customers. Ownership of onboarding within our distribution channels to supporting our customers experience in their everyday banking services, helping customers with their day-to-day banking needs such as transactional banking, payment needs, personal loans and insurance and their financial wellbeing.

Do work that matters: Reporting directly to the General Manager, Everyday Banking - The Executive Manager role is a key role, you will be responsible for managing Unsecured Credit portfolio within risk appetite, with a focus on revenue growth, cost reduction and customer experience benefits end to end for Everyday Banking products.

You will also work closely with EM, Consumer Finance and EM Pricing and Secured Credit Strategy and their respective teams, in supporting the outcomes for management of the Unsecured Credit portfolio

On Any Given Day You Will

  • Be a trusted advisor: Provide balanced insights and solutions to the Everyday Banking Leadership team to support the improvement in credit performance across Unsecured Credit products.
  • Build and maintain a high performance culture: Provide vibrant and exemplary leadership, inspiring colleagues to deliver on the Vision, live the Values, and demonstrate the People Capabilities of the Group.
  • Lead in process thinking and simplification, with a relentless focus on the customer
  • Drive process and technology transformation to continuously improve the way the organisation delivers the outcomes that matter most to the customer..
  • Manage credit portfolio health: Engage with key business stakeholders to align strategy and risk appetite
  • Leverage stress testing and portfolio analytics to establish and monitor triggers and limits and manage portfolio actions within EDB to deliver Bankwest strategy within risk appetite
  • Develop and implement scorecards to support marketing, acquisition, account management, and delinquency strategies
  • Provide insightful credit risk reporting: Establish and maintain infrastructure to measure and report on credit risks and generate in-depth analysis for effective decision making
  • Provide oversight and manage governance of credit risk related data quality
  • Provide assurance over Bankwest credit risk practices and systems
We're interested in hearing from people who possess a combination of the below:
  • 10+ years’ experience in Financial Services at a senior level (e.g. products, risk, finance)
  • Strong understanding of banking products and portfolio including revenue and cost drivers and the end to end product management.
  • Ability to engage and influence Senior Executive and Business Leaders.
  • Deep and broad knowledge of risk management principles/measures and risk/return concepts.
  • Problem solving and analytical capabilities to enable navigation around potentially complex data sources
  • Seasoned technical expert with some 10+ years specific experience at management level with experience in Credit Risk in Business or Retail Banking in the Australian or international banking sector
  • Tertiary qualification in commerce, economics or finance (post graduate qualification is desirable)
