Workforce Planning Scheduler

At Youfoodz we continue to pave the way as the future of food and are now on the hunt for a Workforce Planning Officer to join our People and Culture team in building out our production management capabilities.

Working closely with our Workforce Planning Manager the Workforce Planning Coordinator is a key player in the organising and scheduling of our production focused employees to ensure that the Company rosters are aligned with best practice and production volumes. The position will ensure total staffing pools for each department are sufficient for the roster requirements.

This is a casual role with potential to switch to a permanent position, our ideal candidate will be able to work a 25-30 hour week Monday-Friday, with flexibility to start between 7am - 10am.

Core role responsibilities

Rostering / Scheduling

  • Assist the Workforce Planning Manager to develop target rosters in accordance with production requirements of each department
  • Assign staff to set teams and rosters
  • Review leave requests
  • Monitor overtime and adjust rosters accordingly
  • In absence of the Workforce Planning Manager, review and approve timesheets
  • Provide general assistance to employees and supervisors in the use of the rostering system
  • Monitor unexplained absenteeism and report to the People & Culture Department where required

Recruitment and onboarding

  • Liaise with department leads to determine rostering requirements and changes. Escalate to the Workforce Planning Manager as identified
  • Assist the Workforce Planning Manager to assess current employee availability against roster requirements to determine any additional headcount required
  • Support candidates screening and hiring process


Assist the Workforce Planning Manager to ensure compliance with students on semester break, overtime and student reports.

Role requirements



  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, administration or scheduling



  • Previous administrator use of time and attendance systems, experience of Deputy is desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience in managing high volume recruitment and processes, advert writing, screening candidates and interviewing.


  • Previous experience in FMCG or food manufacturing industries

Skills and Attributes

  • Microsoft Office skills, in particular Excel
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to effectively communicate with employees who have English as a Second Language
  • Confident problem-solving ability
  • Ability to partner with and engage with stakeholders
  • High levels of resilience, professionalism and work ethic
  • Approachable, energetic and flexible in approach
