The Role and Requirements

We are seeking a competent and experienced transmission worker with construction and maintenance experience. 

The Transmission Linesperson is a member of a crew predominately associated with the construction and maintenance of transmission lines across the state of South Australia. They are responsible under the leadership and direction of the Operations Supervisor or Works Coordinator to carry out their duties and ensure safety rules and safe working practices are complied with.

The successful applicant should have:

  • Trade Skilled Worker (Powerline) Certificate, High Voltage Qualification and a current Drivers’ Licence are essential. Applicants must be willing to undertake training to meet the requirements of the role. Eg Live Stick and Bare Hand, unless already obtained.
  • have competent skills and general knowledge in the application of WH&S policies, procedures and practices;
  • ensure productivity and technical standards are met;
  • participate in regular team planning meetings and assist Leaders organise and coordinate internal and external resources;
  • demonstrate the ability to work successfully in a team environment and have a ‘Can Do’ attitude.
  • demonstrate a working knowledge of customer service principles and practices. 

The appointee must be prepared to work overtime as required and travel intra-state or interstate which will involve staying away from home for periods of time.
