Operating in a high-growth market sector, our client is respected as an international leader in the design and implementation of major automated materials handling systems. Having recently secured a major new program of works and against a backdrop of continued expansion, they now have an opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer with experience of, or an interest in, automated materials handling or intralogistics systems to join their existing growing team.

Specifically You Will

Reporting to and under the guidance of the Senior Project Engineer, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with unique and leading-edge conveyored and robotic technologies. With strong internal support on-the-job training, you will take responsibility to help manage, review, maintain, interpret, estimate & design system layouts of material handling systems for projects undertaken across Australia and NZ as well as further afield.

  • Technically execute mechanical engineering projects with a strong emphasis on adherence to standard products suites.
  • Ensure design changes and solutions are implemented and coordinated into the design documentation.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers
  • Create, assist, modify, revise and maintain engineering layouts for sales or project
  • Generate conveyor schedule, bill of material, sales layout, approval layout and installation drawing for sales or project.
  • Design, draft and maintain components / products of material handling system.
  • Create and maintain interface drawings for project
  • Drafting of installation and operation & maintenance manual
  • Proofing drawings
  • Maintenance of project or engineering folder
The role will include project-related travel both in-country and also for future international programs of work.

To excel in this role it is likely that, addition to at least 2+ years post graduate working experience as a Engineer in a mechanical engineering environment (industrial / manufacturing / materials handling or intralogistics) you will have and demonstrable personal interest in automated systems.
