The Opportunity and Team

Within the Bega Dairy & Drinks Planning team, we are currently looking for a Materials Planner to join us on a 6 month Max Term Contract based at our Docklands office. 

Reporting to the Materials Leader, you will be responsible for: 

  • Managing the day to day relationship with our manufacturing sites and suppliers and be the first point of escalation for material related issues
  • Executing the materials planning strategy and ensure consistency in process and approach. 
  • Identifying and implementing value creation and cost avoidance opportunities 
  • Managing inventory holdings based on a sound understanding of production requirements, contractual obligations and available warehouse space
  • Ensuring successful delivery of production plan via replenishment of ingredients and packaging materials in a timely manner.
  • Playing an active role in the IBP Process (Daily, Weekly and Monthly Cycle )
  • Driving collaboration with our supplier base (through sharing of measures & metrics and facilitation of supplier review sessions)
  • Actively participating in NPD and Venture Teams providing insight to stakeholders, ensuring material requirements are available for launch 
  • Proactively managing materials related to product changes or deletions in order to minimise write off
  • Provisioning of forecasts to Suppliers as per agreed frequency
  • Provisioning of Supplier SIFOT & DIFOT reporting , root cause analysis / insights and the development of corrective measures
  • Provisioning of IRA and Cycle Count compliance, reporting , root cause analysis & insights 
  • Maintenance of materials related Master data accuracy 
  • Working proactively with Accounts Payable and Sites to ensure compliance to payments terms

Ideal Experience would include:

  • Demonstrated experience in planning roles 
  • An agile learning approach 
  • In depth capability and experience with ERP, planning and replenishment systems. 
  • Experience and understanding of SLA’s and contractual constraints. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work and make decisions in a high pressure, fast moving environment. 
  • Proven ability to build partnerships with internal and external partners. 
  • Experience in embedding change initiatives. 
  • Previous experience in implementing value creation and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Proven ability to think flexibly and develop agile customer focussed solutions to business issues.
