About the role:
An exciting opportunity for a Lead Software Engineer to join our fast-growing team of Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic and Software Engineers. You will lead our team of Software Engineers, and will be responsible for:
- Driving and leading back-end technical works and contribute to front-end design;
- Delivering well designed technical solutions of our various business priorities,that are highly tailored to our client’s functional needs, and provide continuous improvement of our technical platforms;
- Working on custom designed robotic solutions combining vision, AI and Lidar;
- Leading planning and delivery of Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Video Analytics solutions;
- Assisting the team in designing scalable, cost-effective video analysis solutions that leverage cloud services;
- Identifying product limitations and system constraints to create non-functional requirements from the technical perspective;
- Performing analysis as required to troubleshoot issues and assist in their resolution;
- Ensuring technical solutions are “fit for purpose”, meet specified requirements and are strategically aligned;
- Participating in peer reviews, ensure the quality of code produced, promote coding standards, test coverage, and design; and
- Influencing the technical direction of our business, building, maintaining and improving our platforms.
Essential skills, experience and qualifications:
- 4-5 years of industry experience in AI, machine learning and computer vision
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant field
- Experience designing, training, tuning and deploying deep neural networks
- Experience with ML libraries/tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Caffe, Keras, scikit-learn, pandas
- Experience with OpenCV and/or equivalent machine vision frameworks for building classifiers by hand
- Experience with state-of-the-art object detectors (such as YoloV3, YoloV4, RCNN, SSD, or similar)
- Experience in LiDAR applications, 3D computer vision algorithms and video analytics algorithms, such as image segmentation, 3D reconstruction, object and motion detection, tracking and classification
- Strong Python and C/C++ programming skills
- Familiarity with development in a Linux environment
- Knowledge of full application development lifecycle
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement resulting solutions in a concise and logical manner
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience with ROS
- Experience working on perception and AI components for robotics systems
- Experience using cloud-based AI/ML APIs and deploying cloud-based solutions (e.g. AWS SageMaker, Azure ML or similar)
- Experience with Continuous Integration workflows and TDD
- Exposure to Dockerised environments
- Good awareness of DevOps
- Experience in agile software development practices
- Full-stack development experience, preferably within a senior/lead capacity in a digital team
- Experience in Web Development
