The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Psychologist - Senior (Clinical Education Coordinator) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will -

  • Monitor and report on clinical education practices and outcomes and actively participate in initiating, developing and implementing quality service improvement activities 
  • Build capacity for psychologists to provide supervision and clinical education to meet increasing demand for clinical placements
  • Build confidence, skills and knowledge in staff in clinical education practices and activities
  • Facilitate the clinical and professional development of students and new graduates to ensure the safe and effective provision of evidence-based psychology services to patients and their family/carer networks
  • This position may be required to travel to various facilities within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service and community sites 

About you 

To be successful in this position you will require: 

  • A tertiary degree in Psychology (or equivalent) 
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Relevant post graduate qualification in teaching and learning
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

  • Temporary part time (22.8 hrs p.f., until 28.11.21 with the possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $55.22 - $59.42 per hour

About Us 

The Acute Psychology Team based across Southport and Robina provides evidence-based clinical, health psychology services for adult inpatients who have been admitted with primary physical health conditions. We also offer a consultative service to support multidisciplinary teams regarding the impact of psychological factors on current treatment and can provide education to non-mental health professionals regarding the psychological impacts of health conditions on current admission or treatment engagement. Additionally, clinical neuropsychological services operate specifically within rehabilitation wards across GCUH and Robina, working with the cognitive, emotional and behavioural effects of brain-based conditions, and tailor interventions to optimise functioning.
