• Utilise information systems to record and update all consumer demographic information, medicare details and referral details (HBCIS, MediRecords, CIMHA, ieMR) ensuring data and integrity and client confidentiality by adhering to approved procedures, guidelines and workplace instructions.

About the role

The role of Administration Officer, Community and Acute Services (CAS) is required to respond to enquiries and provide timely and accurate information and assistance to staff, consumers and visitors to facilitate effective service delivery within a health care setting. The role will provide support for the management of the quality systems that ensures the environment is one of the quality and safety.

About You

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Sound communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with all levels of staff, consumers and the public
  • Sound written communication skills to provide an administrative support function to a multidisciplinary team within a health care environment
  • Exceptional organisation and prioritisation skills and the ability to work autonomously in a self-directed manner while contributing to patient flow
  • Knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the internal information systems in addition to Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of basic medical terminology to extract and interpret pertinent information from patient medical records and hospital systems.
  • Maintain discretion and exercise judgement where necessary within the scope of your role to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined, ensuring a satisfactory outcome.

  •  have been vaccinated against the VPD's listed in the role description; or
  • you are not susceptible to the VPD's listed in the role description.
