We are seeking an experienced Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to join the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). This role is required to lead and support the Digital Business Centre division comprising of multiple teams across various professions. This position is a fixed-term, full time role and is located in the Brisbane CBD.

The CDO is the appointed Executive Leadership Team (ELT) member responsible for the Digital Business Centre division which provides a range of services such as information access and records management, business intelligence, project management, and service delivery.

This role operates in a high-functioning and multi-faceted team of professionals with a range of experience and business deliverables.

The Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA), is a state government statutory authority that helps make renting work for everyone. The RTA provides tenancy information and support, bond management, dispute resolution, investigation, and policy and education services to the residential rental sector. The RTA's Purpose is “Empowering positive relationships and administering fairness in the rental sector by providing tailored information, education and regulation for all Queenslanders.”

The RTA administers the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 (the Act) and works with all sector groups including tenants, property managers and owners, community and industry stakeholder groups, and the Queensland Government.

With a focus on enhancing the customer experience, ensuring contemporary and effective practice in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the CDO will develop, implement, and advance the digital strategy and roadmaps whilst simultaneously ensuring the alignment of the technology environment to achieve the these strategies.

Critical to this role is the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders while championing and modelling best practice project management practices that promote high performance and drive cultural and organisational change and collaboration. Operating as a member of the ELT, this role advises and guides the RTA in the development and implementation of digital strategies and plans.

To be successful you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience and proven ability to drive workforce capabilities and complex digital strategies;
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects in accordance with best practice methodologies and sound project governance;
  • Demonstrated ability build and maintain key relationships with managed service providers and other key internal and external stakeholders to support ongoing digital strategies;
  • High-level and proven leadership capability combined with demonstrated experience in information technology, business intelligence reporting, cyber security, and records and data management in a professional environment; and
  • Tertiary education in a relevant field is highly desirable.
