The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Inpatient Mental Health - Acute Young Adult) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide expert clinical care within a specific area supporting the general function of the unit through the application of the principles of best practice, education, leadership and portfolio management
- Coordinate the nursing workforce through the management of allocated resources and delegation of duties
- Deal positively with uncertainty or conflict, cope effectively in a changing environment and respond constructively to unpredictable and/or challenging situations
- Support the Nurse Unit Manager with effective functioning of the unit
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- AHPRA Registration
- A postgraduate qualification within a relevant specialty is highly desirable
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $94 545 - $101 237 per annum

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service is a free, confidential and voluntary service provided by Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. Acacia Acute Young Adult Inpatient Unit is an inpatient facility based in Robina Hospital offering assessment and treatment of young adults (18-25 years) who are experiencing mental health issues and can no longer be managed safely in the community setting.
