Description
Our client is seeking a suitably experienced and qualified Inspector to join their team on a fixed term contract on the departments books until 31st of December, 2021
The role
The primary purpose of this role is to provide high level Fire Protection technical and licencing advice to the commission management and staff, industry participants, stakeholder groups, licence applicants, consumer groups and government agencies.
Key Accountabilities of the role
- Provide complex technical advice to internal and external stakeholders about fire protection work and obligations under the various Act’s.
- Manage, prepare and develop technical documentation, guidance statements and written advice about fire protection work and legislation administered, including licencing scopes of work and technical qualifications
- Prepare responses to general inquiries from customers and stakeholders about fire protection work relevant to the operations and licencing.
- Provide technical guidance to assist the client in audits relevant to fire protection work and non-confirming building products.
- Facilitation of industry engagement activities relating to fire protection work, including participation in webinars and other presentations at industry seminars and events.
- Contribute towards operational planning activities
- Provide exceptional customer service to all the internal staff and their external customers.
About you
Mandatory background required for consideration.
- You must hold a minimum of an Advanced Diploma in qualifications relevant to Fire Protection work. Graduate Diploma Degree or higher are highly desirable.
- You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in fire protection
- Hold a current Drivers Licence with a good driving record.
- Background in government department assessment and inspection – Queensland Health, Energy & Public Works, Queensland Fire & Emergency Services experience will be highly regarded
- High level of interpersonal skills both written and oral communication – consultative, negotiation and mediation skills
- High level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills and as well as the ability to manage cases particularly related to highly complex fire protection environments.
