The role

Reporting into Transdev Australasia’s Group Commercial function, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of the procurement strategy and processes with a value-add approach. You will have a broad focus and oversight of various line items, leading and developing your team, supporting major bid activity, and a drive for ongoing improvements to supplier pricing, consistency, reliability, timeliness, and quality.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Execute the Procurement strategy and framework, in line with the business plan, across all Transdev Australasia operating subsidiaries and locations.
  • Significant contribution towards critical tender activity, leading bid projects and developing scope for winning proposals.
  • Day-to-day leadership of your team of Procurement Specialists, sustaining strong results and coaching and supporting their development.
  • Overall responsibility of a broad scope of supplier relationships and contracts, with a focus on value creation and consolidation.
  • Implementation of business improvement initiatives, process & governance refinement, and support of various related projects.
  • Supporting global procurement activities with Paris head office.
  • Management of procurement reporting to Transdev Australasia and the Paris head office.

What you bring

Demonstrated commercial success in leading strategic procurement functions, in matrixed and complex industrial environments.

Key requirements include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with significant practical experience in commercial procurement or supply chain, engaging directly with top-tier suppliers.
  • Experience developing and implementing Procurement strategy, frameworks and policy, and managing P2P systems and processes.
  • Exceptional and demonstrated leadership and management skills with a focus on team development and high performance.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship skills, with the ability to successfully navigate and influence in large organisations.
  • Data-driven and analytical, with big-picture thinking and a continuous improvement focus, and a strong understanding of Sustainable Procurement.
  • Established project management skills with the capability to deliver results in dynamic, deadline-driven and ambiguous environments.
