Reporting to Executive General Manager, Asset Management, could you be our next General Manager, Network Maintenance? In this position you will manage the delivery of the asset management function for all V/Line below rail and facilities assets, whilst providing direction to Senior Maintenance Managers, also overseeing the management of and the safe and optimal delivery of all maintenance requirements on the V/Line network.


About the role

  • Safety, responsible for asset and occupational safety across the Network Maintenance function
  • Deliver integrated and coordinated efforts across the V/Line Network to maximise the use of the assets and continuously improve standards and ways of working
  • Effectively undertake corrective and reactive maintenance where required
  • Ensure maintenance resources are available to support major project delivery
  • Ensure robust planning and change principles are utilised throughout the function, supporting the network transformation and continuous improvement, delivering high levels of employee and passenger engagement
  • Drive continuous improvement focusing on delivery, having the lowest cost base, improved productivity and effectiveness
  • Lead from the front by actively promoting V/Line’s vision and values across the function


About you

  • Tertiary qualified in a rail related discipline or engineering or asset management related discipline (preferred)
  • Extensive experience in a similar position specifically within rail infrastructure maintenance
  • Proven high level ability to plan and project manage Asset Management initiatives designed to drive continuous improvement with customer service as the focus
  • Successful delivery of operational strategies that accelerate business performance
  • Ability to achieve required outcomes in an operational, unionised, transforming industry
  • Successfully lead and motivated a team through a changing environment
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills at all levels
