About the role
We are seeking a Pathology Collector/Laboratory Assistant for a part time role in our Cobram Collection Centre.
Pathology Collectors are the face of the Pathology Service. In this role you will be the primary contact for our patients, so you will need to have excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills. This is your opportunity to take on a role that is varied as you utilise your excellent phlebotomy abilities and also perform tasks requiring that you use your computer skills and laboratory experience. You will participate in ward rounds, outpatient and residential aged care collections.

We are looking for
  • Enrolled Nurse Qualifications or equivalent (Pathology Collector Classification), or Certificate IV in Pathology Specimen Collection. Holders of Certificate III in Pathology Collections with minimum 2 years’ experience may be considered (Laboratory Assistant Classification)
  • Demonstrated high degree of knowledge, skills and attention to detail in all pathology collections
  • Excellent computer skills, including accurate data entry

  • Essential : Courteous and friendly approach to all stakeholders, with excellent telephone and customer service skills
  • Essential : Demonstrated high degree of knowledge skills and attention to detail in all pathology collections including specialised collections
  • Essential : A satisfactory National Criminal History Record Check, Victorian 'Employee' Working with Children Check and completion of a Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration will be required from prospective candidates prior to commencement of employment.
