Trade And Strategy Project Officer

We have a unique opportunity for a self-motivated and conscientious Project Officer who will report to the International Trade Manager within our Trade and Industry Strategy team. The function of the role serves to assist with information management across the Trade and Industry Strategy team in relation to key contacts and programs. The Project Officer will be specifically responsible for supporting domestic and international events and providing a support program. This role is a full time, 18 month fixed-term contract position.

The key responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):

  • Support the management, logistical arrangements, implementation, and evaluation of international in-market events organised by Dairy Australia
  • Assist and support inward Trade visit programs, both face to face and virtually
  • Co-ordinate the inward Trade and Investment visit programs, both face to face and virtually
  • Assist and co-ordinate other Trade and Strategy events associated with Dairy Australia's strategic projects
  • Work closely with Dairy Australia’s communications team for seamless delivery of messaging related to activities
  • Support the content development for programs through liaison with vendors
  • Work with the Group Manager- Trade and Strategy to maintain the account management database
  • Work with Dairy Australia’s international service providers to ensure accessibility to information
  • Work closely with the International Managers to support the development of case studies
  • Organise the translation and publication of trade team publications
  • Assist with responses to international requests
  • Support digital event development via platforms that allow manufacturers to subscribe

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A degree in Agricultural Science, Science, Food Science, International Trade, or other appropriate discipline or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience of project management within a busy team, including the ability to develop, implement and deliver programs in a multi-disciplinary and cross-functional team environment
  • Experience within the Agribusiness industry with exposure to commercial interactions, policy or regulatory requirements with the added ability to understand the potential implications of these on the dairy industry’s trade
  • Demonstrated ability to operate genuinely and consistently with Dairy Australia's values
