JOB DESCRIPTION
The Department of Transport brings together all transport modes to design, plan, build and operate Victoria's transport system. Our job is to further integrate the transport network and improve the delivery of services to Victorians for simpler, quicker and safer journeys that connect people and places and support Victoria's prosperity and liveability. ROAD WORKER
- Annual Salary Range: VRO2 - $55,273 - $67,248 + super
- Tenure: Fixed Term [12 Months]
- Employment Type: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
- Usual Work Location: Hamilton (flexibility may be available)
About the Team
To deliver transport services across all modes that provides a single user interface to the transport network.
About the Opportunity
The purpose of this role is to perform a variety of road and bridge routine inspection, maintenance, and construction activities as a collaborative and effective team member.
About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
- Ability to operate various major plant and equipment safely and efficiently and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ability to undertake road, bridge inspection, maintenance and construction activities and respond to emergency response situations in a safe manner under general supervision.
- Ability to efficiently complete work in accordance with key performance measures in the most effective manner while ensuring safety practices are always observed.
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of and comply with DoT Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures including Safe Operating Procedures, Safe Work Method Statements and Traffic Management Plans always.
- Demonstrates public sector professionalism and probity, by adopting a principled approach and demonstrates behaviours that align with DoT culture of Care Share Dare.
The successful candidate will be required to have the below outlined qualifications
- Medium Rigid (MR) Truck Licence
- Construction Induction (red/white card)
- Level 2 First Aid
- Implement Traffic Management Plans
