The role
The Trust Accountant is responsible for ensuring that all trust money held for each client and in respect of each transaction for that client can be accurately accounted for at all times.
This includes daily processing and disbursement of all incoming and outgoing trust monies together with the statutory end of month requirements, end of financial year reporting and assistance with Auditors as required.
As our own systems have been developed in-house we understand that you will need training, however, experience in a trust accounting or a property management role, and an understanding of the statutory requirements of trust accounting is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Daily reconciliation of trust accounts
Process daily disbursement to owners, creditors and agents
Assist in the preparation for annual audits
Actively look for ways to streamline procedures to make the department more cost effective and efficient
Qualifications & Certifications
Computer literate across the Microsoft Office suite
Strong numerical skills
You must also tick these boxes
Real estate experience is a plus
Demonstrated experience in a customer service and administrative support role
Excellent customer relationship capability
Possess the ability to learn new processes and systems quickly
Strong organisational skills
Work well in a team
