About The Role

Houzz is looking for an exceptional Communications Executive ( also referred to as Communications Manager) to join our global Branding & Communications team. The ideal candidate will be a media rockstar with a passion for telling stories and building brands.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute integrated PR programs that build awareness for Houzz and our offering as well as drive positive media coverage and buzz.
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant media and influencers.
  • Build relationships with internal leads to mine for/uncover stories and collaborate on PR initiatives.
  • Secure, coordinate and manage press inquiries, briefings and interviews.
  • Identify opportunities to insert Houzz and our offering into news trends/stories.
  • Identify opportunities to support recruiting efforts through communications (e.g. speaking opportunities, events, contributed content).
  • Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within industry media.
  • Support brand and product launches.
  • Manager Social Media channels:
  • Perform other related duties as required, including ad-hoc tasks for our research programme.

At a Minimum, We’d Like You to Have
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of professional PR experience, in-house preferred in the ANZ market
  • Track record of developing and executing communications strategies and programs that build awareness for brands and products, support business priorities, and drive positive media coverage.
  • Ability to be flexible and support diverse projects/needs, juggling multiple competing priorities with skill.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English - strong writer with native level capabilities an absolute must.
  • A team player who can gracefully handle day-to-day public relations operations in a fast paced, start-up environment.
  • A self-starter that is able to work on multiple products simultaneously and consistently deliver stellar results.
  • Results oriented: demonstrated intellect, strong work ethic, and attention to detail are key.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have
  • Knowledge of trade and home renovation industry a plus
  • Corporate communications or agency experience a plus
