Capstone has been requested to offer a rare facilities management opportunity to the market. You will take responsibility for 2-3 central Sydney building assets where researchers undertake complex scientific activities to enhance society.

The Role
As the Manager of Facilities and Operations, you will lead a blended team of 10 Building Technicians and Supervisors, plus contractors to deliver all elements of FM and Property Services across owner occupier facilities.

Core functions are
  • Facilities Management including: CAPEX, Facilities & Space Planning, Maintenance, Asset Management systems, policies and procedures, and Utilities Management.
  • Finance where you will prepare, manage and report on budget performance and provide business cases to deliver improvements and savings.
  • Leadership & People Management where you will create staff development programs, take a hands on approach to your staff and contractor relationships and build stakeholder relationships.
  • Work Health & Safety ensuring asset compliance, team & contractor activity is aligned to legislative and organisational requirements.
The Suitable Person
Will have demonstrated experience and capacity to undertake the above core functions in a fast paced environment.

You are an FM who will have worked in a complex scientific or comparable facility environment where you were responsible for
  • the built environment,
  • critical infrastructure and
  • corporate accommodation.
Research aligned workplaces including Universities, Hospitals & Healthcare, laboratories or pharmaceutical facilities will be highly regarded.

You will be technically proficient in IT systems for FM and general office duties, financially astute and capable of building lasting relationships. Relevant technical qualifications such as Building Services Engineering or FM, a positive and continuous improvement approach to management and passion for your work is important.
