Are you passionate about mechanical and automotive industries and have solid working experience with CNC lathes and mills setting? If so, let’s talk.

Our client is a multi-disciplinary engineering company experiencing strong growth in their research & development and production functions, using CNC machinery, 3D printing, metal fabrication and electronics and creating products such as engines for motorsport and aircraft applications.

They are now requiring a motivated CNC machine operator to join their innovative and professional company. They are located in the southern suburbs and building world class products.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Daily setting up and running of components on CNC lathes and mills (HAAS 3,4,and 5 axis machining centres plus HAAS CNC lathes)
  • Ensure that components match engineering drawings
  • Read and edit CNC programmes for continuous improvement
  • Ensure project schedules and tasks are met in a timely manner
  • Switch between various projects and programmes as required
  • Action and complete all maintenance duties of machinery

To successfully do the above, we are looking for the following:

  • Competent in programming and operation of CNC machines or extensive machining background
  • Experience in cutting metals
  • Relevant qualifications in trade skills or machining
  • Able to read drawings 
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate outcomes
  • Ability to effectively work within time frames and flexibility to switch between tasks and projects
  • Ability to work independently and to work within a small but expanding team environment
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability with willingness to work overtime, as needed
  • Physically fit
  • Operate with a flexible, positive and collaborative approach
  • Energetic and dedicated mode of operating

It would be great if you also had:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of CAM packages and 3D printing
  • Experience in fabrication, use of hand tools and operation of basic workshop machinery 
  • An enthusiasm for either motor sports, gadgets, all things mechanical to see things develop and go!
