About The Project

McConnell Dowell is the constructor within the Western Program Alliance (WPA) which forms part of the Victorian State government’s ambitious level crossing removal program. The Alliance brings together the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP), Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM), and Arup and Mott MacDonald as design partners.

WPA was formed in 2017 and following the successful completion of several major projects, is now focused on delivering the level crossing removals at Werribee (Werribee Street & Cherry Street), Hoppers Crossing (Old Geelong Road) and Cranbourne (the Cranbourne Line Upgrade), as well as developing future works projects.

Your Opportunity

We are currently seeking applications from passionate and motivated individuals with demonstrated experience to join us in the position of Senior Internal Communications Advisor. Reporting to the Program Communications and Stakeholder Manager the primary focus of this role is to ensure that all safety, wellbeing, people, culture and innovation initiatives as well as project milestones are celebrated across all sites.

The Senior Internal Communications Advisor Will Be Accountable For

  • Development and responsibility for WPA internal communication strategy and tools
  • Development of internal communications plans and campaigns
  • Planning and organising of annual Momentum events
  • Management of the internal communications calendar of safety, wellbeing, people, culture and milestone events
  • Communication of our business plan/s, corporate strategies and internal achievements
  • Brand management
  • Monthly updates to TV screens and posters at all sites
  • Monthly newsletter and regular internal communications outputs
  • Management of intranet/SharePoint
  • Drafting regular emails from Alliance General Manager or appropriate AMT members

Requirements For This Role Are
  • At least five years’ professional experience in internal communications, event planning or communications in a relevant similar role
  • Strong attention to detail
  • End to end project management experience of tasks such as art/design, video, collateral and events
  • Strong written and verbal communicator
  • Relevant recognised qualifications
  • Energetic, resilient, flexible with a can-do attitude
