Project Manager – FMCG Primary Connect, Sydney based

About The Role:

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects aligned with business growth strategy. The role will integrate a Primary Connect community of many members within the Australian business, delivering large scale & complex projects, or multiple mid-tier projects across the Woolworths group.

 Leading and supporting various subject matter experts across a number of cross-divisional areas including Stores, IT, Property, Procurement, Transport, Safety, Process Improvement and Replenishment.You will also manage internal and external teams including equipment manufacturers, automation suppliers, IT service providers and trade suppliers.The role is pivotal to the ongoing transformation of our bricks and mortar operations, as well as our rapidly expanding online customer fulfilment operations.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Own, and manage a portfolio of projects through all phases from setup to delivery and post handover
  • Manage a team of project and business resources with both direct and indirect line management accountability
  • Report progress, risks & issues, financials through various Supply Chain and Cross divisional forums
  • Ensure Customers, Sponsor and Key stakeholders remain aligned to the purpose, objectives and approaches
  • Ensure correct governance and quality assurance is maintained across the portfolio
  • Complying with the Woolworths Project Management Framework.

About You:

To be successful you will have:
 

  • 7+ years experience in working directly within either the Supply Chain and/or FMCG / Food, Beverage & Retail Sectors 
  • 5+ years Project Management experience covering the implementation of complex change into an operating business (brownfield), or establishing and commissioning from new (greenfield) 
  • Demonstrated experience in managing across teams to achieve deliverable; experience in collaborating with others to achieve outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to focus on the details while maintaining an understanding of the big picture
  • Demonstrated effective negotiation and influencing skills with stakeholders;
  • Proven ability in gaining the trust and respect from Sponsors and key Business partners
  • Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
  • Experience in working effectively within a large, multidivisional and complex environment 
  • Proven experience in managing a transition through operations (including ramp up and ramp down)
  • Financially competent in managing project cost budgets, negotiations
  • Understanding of safety management systems for Supply Chain including CoR.
