The Position

It is a key role providing an opportunity to build and execute the platform strategy for our new subscriptions platform. You will partner with various stakeholders across the WooliesX ecosystem to understand their customer propositions, current capabilities and incorporate that into your strategy and plan.

You will be responsible for building a subscription platform that can be leveraged by the wider WooliesX business. You will start off as a lean team to build out the plan and roadmaps, ultimately growing the team to support the long term plan and strategy.

The ideal candidate will possess

  • Strong experience in agile delivery and ability to balance rapid iteration speed with continually improving the overall stability, scalability, security and modularity of the product.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse multidisciplinary team with a focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in end-to-end development of microservices and event-driven distributed systems entirely in the cloud. Azure experience is preferred.
  • Full-stack experience building web products using C# .NET and the latest front-end technologies.
  • Understanding code testability, experience in build pipelines and DevOps (CI/CD systems, infrastructure as code etc).
  • Experience building platforms that are utilised by external clients and services are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product and UX leads to drive discovery, inception and execution of the subscriptions platform vision.
  • Collaborating with various engineering and architecture leads to define the platform capabilities for a multi subscription offering.
  • Creation of tech strategy, vision and roadmap to plan out discovery and delivery for quarterly delivery cycles.
  • Lead on technical delivery of the squad, from designing solutions to deploying them and ensuring correct operation.
  • Work closely with Tech Leads across Tribes to manage dependencies and risk.
  • Communicate to stakeholders on the progress of initiatives.
  • Contribute to resourcing strategy, assist in recruiting and onboarding new engineers to build a strong team and a sustainable product.
  • Coach, mentor and help the engineers in the team to improve their skills.
