About the role:

The ‘Product Manager – 5G Cloud Edge/IoT’ has the responsibility to delight and excite our clients and stakeholders with innovative market products, solutions and offers that take advantage of our 5G Cloud Edge and IOT capabilities.

Reporting to the Director - Business Platforms & Services the person in this position has end-to-end accountability for product strategy, product backlog and roadmap, release relevant offers, client experience, and revenue and profitability for those products, solutions and offers within the allocated portfolio. The Product Manager is expected to understand client needs, ensure product completeness, develop and communicate the product vision, value proposition and roadmap, manage and prioritise the flow of work, participate in planning, define release and program increments, work with teams across Optus and our partners to achieve objectives and targets. You will also be expected to evaluate technology partners for technology capabilities that can leveraged to accelerate time to market.

You will embrace new ways of working, be a leader for change, and inspire and energise cross-functional teams (both internally and externally).

Experience required
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in ICT/cloud, engineering, marketing or equivalent;
  • High level understanding of Telco and ICT technologies and trends, specifically 5G cloud edge and IoT
  • Demonstrated capability in products and solutions with strong commercial acumen
  • Previous experience in Product, Delivery or Marketing.
  • Experience working in a lean-agile Model (SAFe experience an advantage)
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritise a feature backlog
  • Ability to manage and influence colleagues with strong engagement & negotiating skills
  • Presentation skills for internal teams and external customer presentations
  • Creative and conceptual thinking
  • Sense of urgency, without discounting quality and performing necessary due diligence
  • Nimble and resilient to facilitate the desired outcome
  • Well-developed skills in using desktop applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and in operating in an MS Windows environment.
  • Understanding of customer value principles and the ability to create customer and internal documentation to support
