My client is seeking an experienced HSQE Advisor based in the Perth office with occasional site travel

My client is a market leader in their field and a proud WA family run business. They are seeking a WHS Manager to run the HSE function in their head office in Perth. This is a stand alone role reporting into the CEO.
Description
Reporting directly into the CEO, this role plays an integral part in overseeing the sites Health & Safety function and being responsible for reviewing current policies and processes as well as writing new policies and driving a culture of safety throughout the organisation.
Key Duties Will Include But Are Not Limited Too
- Influencing and supporting managers, leadership teams, employees and contractors in the application of safety risk management practices and processes.
- Updating risk management policies
- Coordinating and maintaining the implementation, maintenance and review and the HSQE Management System
- Monitoring compliance and Quality Assurance documents
- Coordination of audits, site inspections and inductions this includes, undertaking safety inspections and reviews, ensuring the implementation of recommendations where appropriate and compliance with company and legal standards.
- Providing safety reports and maintaining registers, ensuring these clearly indicate what has been achieved in safety and what are current requirements/issues.
- Coordinating strategies and implementing risk controls as well as contributing to the improvement of WHS processes and guidelines.
- Overseeing the relevant Safety committees and lead in the Worker's Compensation and Injury Management function.
- Managing return to work
- Being involved in change management and continuous improvement
- Assist in reviewing and writing policies and procedures related to H&S practices including the Drug & Alcohol policy and procedure
- Developing and implementing safety initiatives
The successful candidate will be an experience HSEQ Advisor with the following expertise and qualities:
- Tertiary qualifications (Eg: Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, or equivalent, with Diploma (WHS) and relevant work experience)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (preferred but not essential)
- Sustained experience in WHS and Environmental management positions
- Worked within a multi-discipline/multi-function environment
- Practical experience in the principal WHS functions
- Intellectual capacity and emotional intelligence consistent with the demands of this position
- Strong analytical skills
- Articulate, well developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound computer skills
- Ability to lead as well as work in a team environment
