About The Opportunity
The Out of Home Care/Whole Family Team is a district wide, Tier 4 specialist service, that provides therapeutic interventions for children and young people in out of home care, as well as for families where a Risk of Significant Harm (ROSH) has been made for one of the children and where there is a mental health and/or drug health issue in one or both of the parents. Specialist, tertiary level assessment and evidence based, family and individual, trauma informed therapeutic interventions are provided by the multidisciplinary team, as well as high level consultation to DCJ and other external agencies involved where there are significant child protection matters for a family.
This is an exciting role that is district wide but based in Ingleburn, which provides outreach/inreach and clinic based appointments, that is targeted at innovative and dedicated clinicians who will be working with vulnerable children in out of home care, and, families where there is a risk of family breakdown due to significant child protection matters on a background of complex mental health/trauma/drug and alcohol issues. There is professional development and clinical supervision provided and an expectation that the appropriate applicant will possess knowledge in attachment theory and an ability to provide high quality mental health interventions. The clinician will have opportunities to participate in research and quality improvement.
