Waste Education Officer

Waste Education Officer (Ref: 806) – Fixed Term 2 Years

About the position:

The City is seeking a Waste Education Officer who will assist in the development and implementation of approved waste and recycling education activities to the City of Greater Geraldton community to ensure engagement and awareness.

This full time position is offered as a two (2) year fixed term contract.

Key accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement approved waste education program and activities across the City of Greater Geraldton.
  • Assist in the development of information and promotional material related to Waste & Recycling Education including the Food Organics/Garden Organics Program (FOGO).
  • Assist in the delivery of FOGO engagement and education programs.
  • Assist in the development of appropriate marketing and communication strategies for waste & recycling education programs and FOGO, in collaboration with the Communication team.
  • Meet with residents to provide feedback and teach correct waste disposal and separation methods.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will have a degree in related field and relevant experience in developing, implementing and monitoring Community waste/recycling minimisation program, education and community engagement.

Furthermore, the successful applicant will ideally have comprehensive understanding of Waste Management and Recycling in Western Australia.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $79,205 per annum or $40.0836 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
