About the Role

  • Participates in the development of quality improvement activities and the application of research and evidence based practice, in collaboration with clinicians and other stakeholders.
  • Continually monitors and actively patrols the clinical areas and waiting areas and pro‐actively engages patients, visitors and staff to develop a positive safety culture and creates opportunities to enhance the user experience by making connections with those in the area and, where possible, alleviating some of the stresses and anxiety through respectful interpersonal interactions.
  • Uses supportive verbal techniques and engages staff resources to identify appropriate strategies aimed at the de‐escalation of disruptive or potentially violent behaviour.
