The Mental Health Management team is currently seeking a Senior Project Officer to join their Zero Suicide in Healthcare Multi-site collaborative team on a temporary full-time basis.

About your opportunity
This position will participate in the Zero Suicide in Healthcare Multi-site Collaborative project team providing co-contribution, implementation and evaluation of sustainable healthcare improvements through embedding a suicide prevention clinical pathway across Townsville University Hospital and Health Service.

Key duties include;

  • Promote a consumer centred, safety supportive and error reporting culture consistent with delivery of evidence based health care and a learning organisation ethos throughout TUHHS.
  • Establish and confirm local governance and reporting arrangements to the local executive sponsor.
  • Participate and support the state-wide multi-site collaborative group and contribute to the evaluation of the Zero Suicide in Healthcare framework in line with state-wide evaluations.
  • Provide day to day project delivery support and source and analysis data to identify best practice improvements that support the Zero Suicide in Healthcare Multi-site Collaborative project.
  • Deliver education to relevant TUHHS/MHSG teams about the use of the developed Safety Planning document and embed its use in routine practice.
  • Deliver education to relevant TUHHS/MHSG teams about the use of the Consumer, Carer and Family information packs, and embed their use in routine practice.
  • Communicate effectively and routinely with extended teams in HHS, promoting and supporting state-wide documents, data tools and methodology of the project.

Role requirements:

  • There are no mandatory qualifications or professional registration requirements however a strong understanding of the clinical environment, with experience in complex interdependent systems will be highly regarded and will need to be able to demonstrate how they will deliver excellence in leadership in a clinical environment within a Hospital and Health Service.
  • 'C' class motor vehicle licence.

Generous remuneration package value up to $10,560 p.m. comprising salary range of $3974.30 to $4257.20 p.f. (AO6), 17.5% leave loading, 12.75 % employer contribution to superannuation.
