An exciting position is available in the Department of Education and Training for an experienced and enthusiastic applicant for a Kindergarten Improvement Advisor role in South Western Victorian Region, based in Horsham or Warrnambool.

Kindergarten Improvement Advisor 

The role of the Kindergarten Improvement Advisor is to advise, support and build the capacity of funded kindergarten services to continuously improve service quality, particularly through the implementation of School Readiness Funding and subsidised Three-Year-Old Kindergarten. The role of the Kindergarten Improvement Advisor is to advise, support and build the capacity of funded kindergarten services across the Wimmera South West Area to continuously improve service quality.

The Kindergarten Improvement Advisor will need to draw on past experience and knowledge in an early learning context, administration of early childhood services and curriculum delivery.
This role requires high-level communication and stakeholder management skills, along with a strong understanding of quality pedagogical practices.

The position is responsible for implementing Government priorities including program reform and policy in relation to Early Childhood.

In particular, you will understand the needs of individual kindergarten services to provide specialist advice to early childhood providers to inform the successful implementation of School Readiness Funding, by identifying opportunities to improve educational outcomes.

You will also provide specialist advice on change management and quality pedagogical practices for the implementation of three-year-old kindergarten, and influence the practices of early childhood organisations through evidence-based strategies.

The roles requires you to consult, liaise with and influence key stakeholders, find innovative solutions to resolve stakeholder issues, and apply extensive knowledge of the early childhood sector and the local community to inform decisions and advice to stakeholders.

You will oversee quality assurance mechanisms used to monitor early childhood reforms, have a sound understanding of current research and developments in the early childhood sector, plus the ability to identify implications and opportunities.

This role requires leadership skills, well development problem solving and stakeholder management skills. The ability to form strong relationships and networks with early childhood providers is essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

A bachelor-level tertiary qualification in early childhood or a related field is highly desirable.
