JOB DESCRIPTION

Located on the beautiful Great South Coast, South West Healthcare offers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical and psychiatric services. The organisation serves a catchment in excess of 110,000 and comprises of a total of 282 beds and an extensive range of primary and community services. Warrnambool boasts excellent sporting, education (pre-school to university), social and cultural facilities. The city’s award winning foreshore promenade is a 5.7km path that stretches from the breakwater along the coastline to the Hopkins River mouth.

The SPEAK (Specialist Education And Knowledge) Project was established following Alfred Health's receipt of a three-year Information, Linkages and Capacity Building Program grant from the National Disability Insurance Agency. The aim of this grant opportunity is to fund projects that will produce improved practice approaches in health service systems. South West Healthcare (SWH) is partnering with Alfred Health to support the implementation of the SPEAK Project in a regional setting.

About the role

The position supports the SPEAK Project Manager to build capability in the health workforce and improve processes to meet people with disabilities healthcare needs, particularly people with autism, intellectual disability or communication disability. The objective of the project is to stimulate and encourage practice change in the delivery of mainstream services through the development and trialling of new approaches that are more inclusive and welcoming for people with disability.

This Project Administrator position will be responsible for tasks and duties such as; identify, support and strengthen existing resources and programs and actively research and support new initiatives and represent, and advocate for the organisation and the community in a highly professional manner. This position is also accountable for supporting all administrative aspects and information or database systems of the project as required too. In this role a high level of initiative and an ability to provide high quality written and verbal communication with all stakeholders is critical.

This temporary 24 hours per fortnight position is available for immediate start until July 2023.

What you bring

You will have five years' experience and competence in office management, communication, document presentation, problem solving, organisational ability and computer skills, including Microsoft Office products. A demonstrated ability in taking a proactive approach, utilising your own initiative and working through projects with minimal direction and supervision, as well as a an ability to determine work priorities and meet deadlines and understand and maintain confidentiality is also essential for this position.
