SecureEnergy, a Clough Elecnor Joint Venture, has been selected to deliver the engineering, procurement, and construction of Project EnergyConnect. EnergyConnect is a new 700 km 330 kV transmission line running from Wagga Wagga in NSW to Robertstown in SA. The project scope also includes the construction of supporting infrastructure, such as substations and access roads along the route of the transmission line. When built, EnergyConnect will enable future renewable energy projects to connect to the electricity grid.

The Role

As part of our project Health & Safety team you will report into the Project Safety Manager and work closely with our Construction teams to plan and deliver on-site works in a safe manner. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Establishment and implementation of Health & Safety plans and supporting documentation.
  • Health & Safety training and competency assessment, including onboarding and inductions.
  • Incident classification, notification investigation, and close out of all actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • HSE Assurance and verification.
  • Facilitating risk workshop
  • Management of compliance and risk with relation to required competencies and certification of direct and subcontract workforce.

This role will be based within our Sydney project office for up to 12 months with regular site visits before migrating to site full-time.

Your Skills & Experience

Ideally you will have significant experience working with well-regarded construction contractors that exhibit strong safety cultures and practices. You will possess relevant Health & Safety qualifications and will be able to demonstrate your ability to:

  • Work on large and complex infrastructure or resources projects as a Health & Safety Advisor or Coordinator including knowledge of electrical infrastructure and associated risks
  • Develop good working relationships with key project personnel.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with on-site construction teams.
