About the Role

This highly sought-after role will be responsible for leading the development of strategy and policy for the Social Planning and Investment Department.

A key focus for this role is researching, developing and preparing the new Social Infrastructure Policy and Plan, along with associated documents and systems that support the successful and ongoing implementation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and continually review and revise the Social Infrastructure Framework, that includes the Council policy, investment plan and associated supporting documents as required.
  • Prepare and oversee the development of a range of policies related to the planning of social infrastructure.
  • Ensure ongoing community and corporate engagement is undertaken that builds support and ensures community and corporate insights are able to inform the delivery and implementation of the Social Infrastructure Framework.
  • Ensure the organisation is represented in broader social planning processes and consultations, with key internal and external stakeholders.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in the following,

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or experience at a comparable level of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of high level strategic planning and/or policy in a local government setting.
  • Previous experience developing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively manage complex projects from consultation, concept development, and design phases through to full implementation. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of relevant government policy and legislation related to sport and recreation planning.
