About the Role

We are looking for a passionate individual with expert knowledge in social infrastructure planning to lead our high impacting team. In this role your key focus is the planning, development and delivery of community infrastructure throughout our stunning region.

This is an incredible opportunity to add value to a community focused strategy and play an influential part in infrastructure that supports families, children, young and older people.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team to ensure development of plans that will drive the delivery of early years and community infrastructure and new ways of providing facilities to the community, in conjunction with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leading and ensuring the development of strategies and policies, particularly overseeing Councils Social Infrastructure Plan and its implementation.
  • Providing specialist advice on Council’s legislative and corporate obligations regarding the planning and delivery of community infrastructure.
  • Working collaboratively across divisions and with relevant stakeholders in planning for community services and infrastructure requirements.
  • Ensuring the department is represented and contributing (as required) to the development and review of precinct structure plans and other strategic land use planning in or growth areas.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or experience at a comparable level of responsibility.
  • Exceptional capability and experience in managing and motivating teams of people to deliver.
  • Demonstrable experience and strong reputation in the leadership and management of people within a comparable organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing policies and strategies to support the effective planning and delivery of community facilities and services.
  • Demonstrated capacity for high level consultation with service providers and practitioners, including ability to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders in this portfolio.
  • Ability to effectively manage complex projects from consultation, concept development, and design phases through to full implementation. 
  • Satisfactory Police check and current employee Working with Children Check.
