The company:

Our client is a market leader and premier supplier of flour-based products in the Australian and International marketplace. Located 40kms North West of Bendigo in Bridgewater, they are currently seeking experienced, committed, and reliable Mechanical Fitters to join their team.

The role:
This is a varied role working on a range of plant equipment and machinery across a 24/7 site and will assist in all aspects of engineering to ensure site equipment and facilities are engineered, maintained, and repaired to the appropriate standard.

Your duties may include:

  • Preventative repair and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Plan immediate response to emergency or breakdown maintenance.
  • Perform basic fabrication tasks using Stick, MIG or TIG welding methods.
  • Plan and establish the sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products.
  • Initiate and complete work orders and ensure timely sign-off/close.
  • Prepare designs, specifications, technical instructions, submissions and reports as required.
  • Contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Work within strict timeframes and elevate incidents within appropriate timeframes.
  • Liaise with vendors, staff and management personnel regarding purchases and project status as required.

The successful person will need to have some flexibility around working a shift structure of days and afternoons, with some night shifts required.

About you:

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
  • 3 + years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with Stick, MIG and TIG welding.
  • Fantastic problems solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and work under pressure.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently as required.
  • Experience in pneumatic and hydraulics would be advantageous.
  • Good computer skills; including the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Connect/disconnect electrical licence would be highly advantageous.
