JOB DESCRIPTION
To provide a high standard of client care that will meet the residents psychological, physiological and socio-economic needs. Educate, monitor, coordinate, supervise and delegate aspects of personal care to other staff members while ensuring safe optimal care to all clients
KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for residents according to accepted nursing practices and standards
- To accept responsibility for the clinical care of residents under their care and keep the Manager of Clinical care informed of changes in residents’ health status.
- To work in consultation with all members of the health care team
- To complete ACFI documentation and other documentation as required
- To act in accordance with legislative requirements
- To liaise with the Manager regarding appropriate rostering of staff
- To uphold the Tuia Lodge mission and vision.
REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES
- Strong self-management skills, a commitment to nursing and flexibility to adapt to unexpected changes
- Ability to show initiative, discretion & judgment in carrying out assigned duties.
- Ability to coordinate and contribute to clinical meetings as required.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of Accreditation for Aged Care Facilities
- Knowledge of the ACFI funding structure.
- Knowledge of the needs of older adult health
- Knowledge of Principles of continuous improvement
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a high level of nursing care
- Demonstrated strong self-management skills
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to unexpected changes
- Demonstrates a high standard of oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as a member of team
- Demonstrated computer skills.
EXPERIENCE:
- Aged Care experience, desirable, but not essential
QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING:
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current “C” Class Driving Licence
- Current Australian Police Clearance
